Mil Steppe, Aserbeidschan (Kura in Motion)

The project explores patterns of occupation of the Mil Plain with a particular focus on the prehistoric period, from the beginning of sedentism (6th mill. BCE) to the Early Bronze Age (3rd mill. BCE). Our interdisciplinary investigations include intensive archaeological survey and excavations at several sites, palaeonvironmental reconstruction and specific studies on raw material procurement strategies.
