The Colonnaded Streets of Roman Palestine
The colonnaded streets were an integral monumental part of the cities of the Roman East, including the cities of Roman Palestine. From the inception of archaeological research in Israel these monumental thoroughfares were discovered in cities such as Jerusalem, Nablus (Flavia Neapolis), Beth Shean (Scythopolis), Sepphoris and Tiberias. My goal is to make a comparative analysis and research on the colonnaded streets, viewing them as more than a thoroughfare, as monuments, with the aim to understand chronological, architectural, topographical, regional and decorational aspects.
