Archaeometry/Archaeoinformatics (Topoi A-III)
To enhance the scientific investigation and preparation of archaeological finds research group A-III aimed to advance scientific methods and techniques from various disciplines (such as mineralogy, geophysics, biology, chemistry, materials, and mining science). The focus of research in this context was on issues of archaeometry and archaeoinformatics.
The research group used adequate methods to investigate climatic processes and their connection to spatial and cultural developments and to analyze the utilization of mountainous areas considering geological and ecological factors. Another object of research in this context was the relation between the technologies and the places of production of artefacts and their distribution in order to reconstruct economic spaces in the La Tène culture (central Germany and Bohemia).
