This project explores the development of Augustine’s psychological account of time, with a specific focus on the key concept of ‚intentio’: a notion denoting the attention, will, or care of the soul directed toward an object. Through the analysis of the evolution of the concept of ‚intentio‘ in three works – De immortalitate animae, De musica and Confessiones XI – the research aims to provide new insights into the development over time of Augustine’s epistemological and moral understanding of time and temporality.
