The dissertation focuses on the study of Western Greek quarries in Sicily. The chronological scope begins with the founding of these settlements in the 8th–6th centuries and extends to around 400 BCE. A multifaceted approach was chosen: On the one hand, the sites of stone extraction were systematically examined. On the other hand, the context of utilization of the stone building material was explored, based on the structures themselves.
